Neighborhood Training Choir with Pittsburgh Youth Chorus
Neighborhood Training Choir
First class is free at the South Hills location. Bring a friend and their first class is free as well!
Our non-auditioned Neighborhood Training Choirs are the first stepping-stone to PYC’s choral education program.
Neighborhood Training Choirs provide an exciting opportunity for young singers in 1st-3rd grades to discover their voice in a high-quality choral-education program that is close to home.
Neighborhood Training Choirs are designed to:
Enrich music reading skills
Promote healthy choral singing in a group environment
Develop choral literacy and peer interaction
Refine the audition skills necessary to increase potential success in the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus audition process
Participation in a Neighborhood Training Choir offers a peek into the PYC organization before making an extended commitment to join PYC’s core choir program. At the end of each 24-week session, children who are in third grade, or entering third grade the next fall are invited to audition for placement into PYC's Troubadours.
This is the disclaimer text. It should wrap, then the bar will grow in height if more space is needed. The blackboard footer will center if disclaimer is not being used and the background will be one color.
