CrestThe 2023 Upper St. Clair High School Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies are set for Thursday, June 8, 2023. Baccalaureate, for graduating seniors only, will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the theater. The commencement ceremony will follow, starting at 7 p.m. in the stadium. 

Commencement will be live streamed for those unable to attend in-person. Friends and family can access the broadcast at uscsd.tv or on YouTube.

Every attempt will be made to hold the commencement ceremony outside in the high school stadium. In the event of inclement weather, commencement will be relocated to the high school gymnasium and seating will be limited. A determination will be made by 6:15 p.m. and communicated via the district’s website, automated calls to senior families and social media.

Additional climate-controlled seating will be available in the high school large group instruction (LGI) room and theater, where friends and family can watch a live video feed of the ceremony. The theater and LGI will be an option whether graduation is held inside or outside.

In the stadium, the stage will be located near the end zone closest to the school. Both the home and visitor bleachers will be used for spectator seating. All spectators must be seated within the bleacher areas. Field level seating/standing will not be available. Members of the Class of 2023 will know their seating locations following graduation practice on Monday, June 5.

Parking Shuttle & Handicapped Parking

Complimentary shuttle bus service will run from the parking lots at the Upper St. Clair Township building and the public works building (bottom of Truxton Drive) beginning at 5 p.m. Please note that parking will NOT be available at the lot adjacent to Westminster Church as the farmers’ market is held on Thursdays from 4-7 p.m.

Handicapped parking and seating are available for both the home and visitors’ bleachers. Vehicles must have a handicap placard to park in these designated areas.  (View the event map)

  • For the visitors’-side, handicapped parking will be available in the lot adjacent to the stadium’s end zone. The lot is only accessible via the Truxton Road delivery/service entrance.
  • For the home-side bleachers, handicapped parking is available near the main ticket booth and designated seating is available at the top of the bleachers.
  • For indoor viewing areas, handicapped parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the theater entrance.

Indoor graduation – in case of inclement weather

In the event of rain, graduation will be relocated to the high school’s large gymnasium. A decision will be made and communicated by 6:15 p.m. via the district’s website, automated calls to senior families and social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter - @uscschools).

All family and friends attending indoor graduation will enter the school through the theater entrance. If the decision is made after you are seated in the stadium, look for a sign indicating an alternate entrance to the large gym via the football field/track. 

To access the gymnasium from the theater lobby, please follow the instructions below:

  • Families with a graduating student with a last name beginning with the letters A-Le should enter through the nutrition center down the former pool hallway and into the large gym.
  • Families with a graduating student with a last name beginning with the letters Li-Z should enter down the hallway past the small gym and into the large gym.

Only those in possession of a barcoded ticket will be permitted into the gymnasium to view the ceremony live.

Additional family members without tickets will be able to view the ceremony in the LGI or theatre. Entrance into the theater will be permitted once the seniors have exited to begin their procession. Families may wait in the nutrition center or LGI until the theater is available.

Every effort will be made to hold the ceremony in the stadium and it will be moved indoors strictly as a last resort.

Indoor graduation ticket information

Due to limited seating in the gymnasium, each graduating senior will be issued four unique barcoded tickets, which will be delivered electronically to the senior’s @uscstudents.org email account no later than June 6, 2023.

If a senior has not received his/her ticket email and/or is not able to print by June 7, please send an email request to eventbrite@uscsd.k12.pa.us.

Students/families are encouraged to print the four tickets prior to graduation, regardless of weather conditions. Additional tickets will not be issued and duplicate tickets will not be accepted.

Tickets are only required in the event of rain and the ceremony is held indoors. Those without valid tickets will be redirected to the indoor viewing areas in the theater and LGI.
