Winter Blast for grades 5-6 set for Feb. 22

Winter Blast The Youth Steering Committee of Upper St. Clair is hosting its Winter Blast for students in grades five and six from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at the Community & Recreation Center at Boyce Mayview Park.

The event offers a variety of activities including dodge ball tournament, bingo, giant Jenga, an inflatable attraction, live DJ and more. Refreshments – including pizza, cookies and other snacks – are included with admission. Gym shoes are recommended.

The cost is $10 per student with a family maximum of $20. The admission fee is waived for families who wish to chaperone. (All chaperones must have clearances). Payment (check or cash) will be collected at the door. Please make checks payable to Upper St. Clair School District.

Pre-registration is highly recommended. However, registration will also be available at the door. 

Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or personal care item in support of the USC Parent Teacher Council food drive to benefit the South Hills Interfaith Movement. There will be a box for donations located in the lobby. 

The event is sponsored by USC Cares for Kids, an initiative of the Youth Steering Committee of Upper St. Clair. The Youth Steering Committee of Upper St. Clair is a community action group, jointly appointed by the Township Board of Commissioners and Board of School Directors. The committee is comprised of adult residents, student representatives and liaisons from the appointing boards. Its mission is to involve the Upper St. Clair community in providing positive direction and support to the community’s youth and their families.
