2020-21 Kindergarten registration - complete online forms

Updated May 21, 2020

2020-21 Kindergarten registration modified

Register online Upper St. Clair School District’s kindergarten registration is being conducted online due to the extended school closure caused by COVID-19.

Families are asked to complete the online registration form, which replaces the paper forms that were distributed in packets from the elementary schools. Access the online kindergarten registration form:

Collecting data for our incoming kindergarten class now will enable the district to better communicate with families as well as plan appropriately for the 2020-21 school year.

Incoming students will participate in a kindergarten screening, which will be scheduled when our schools reopen. At that time, families will provide all required documentation – including child's birth certificate or passport, immunization records, and two proofs of residency. Notice for scheduling screening appointments will be emailed to families as soon as dates are established. In the meantime, please know how excited we are that your child will be part of Upper St. Clair’s Class of 2033.

Preparing for Kindergarten

Students registering for kindergarten must be 5 years of age by Sept. 1, 2020, to be enrolled for the 2020-21 school year. Proof of residency within the Upper St. Clair School District is required for enrollment.

Upper St. Clair School District operates a half-day kindergarten program. The morning program is from 8:15 – 10:55 a.m. and the afternoon program is from 12:05 – 2:45 p.m. A Kindergarten-Plus as well as before and after school programs are offered at each elementary school through Extended Day Services.

Incoming kindergarten families may elect to apply for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP), which is offered at Streams Elementary. All Eisenhower and Baker attendance area families – except those with older siblings who will be in the PYP program at Streams in the 2020-21 school year – must complete kindergarten registration for their home school as determined by the elementary attendance area map. Incoming kindergarten families with siblings who will be enrolled at Streams in the 2020-21 school year and who are requesting the IB PYP program may complete registration for Streams.

PYP serves students in kindergarten through grade 4. Due to space limitations, preference is given to students whose home school is Streams and/or those with siblings already enrolled in the program. A wait list is maintained annually. The deadline for PYP application forms is Tuesday, April 21, 2020.

Families in the Streams attendance area who do not wish to enroll in PYP may elect to have their child attend Baker Elementary. Registration should be completed for Baker Elementary. The deadline for Streams parents to select Baker is also Tuesday, April 21, 2020.
