Board members honored for service

Two members of the Upper St. Clair Board of School Directors were recently recognized for their service by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association. Board President Amy Billerbeck and Vice President Barbara Bolas were honored for their 12 and 32-years of service, respectively.

Jim Summerville, PSBA’s member services manager in Western Pennsylvania, presented Mrs. Billerbeck with a certificate of recognition and awarded Mrs. Bolas with a glass plaque in honor of their service. The presentation was made during the Upper St. Clair School Board meeting on Monday, Oct. 28, 2019.

Barbara Bolas Mrs. Billerbeck is currently finishing her fourth term as school board president. Mrs. Bolas has served in several leadership roles locally as well as with PSBA and the National School Boards Association.

Since 1983, PSBA has been recognizing school board members who earn “honor roll” status for completing eight years of service and then again at every four-year increment.

According to PSBA, the honor roll “is a way of saying thank you to those individuals who exemplify leadership and statesmanship, giving unselfishly of their time and talents for the future of our public schools.”
