USC ranks No. 1 in region and No. 2 in Pennsylvania
For the second year in a row, the Upper St. Clair School District ranks No. 1 in the annual rankings of regional school districts published by the Pittsburgh Business Times. Released on May 12, 2020, the 2020 Guide to Southwestern Pennsylvania Schools analyzes school performance data for 102 school districts throughout the seven-county region. Read more
Awards Night honors nearly 100 high school students
Nearly 100 Upper St. Clair High School students were recently recognized with honors, awards and scholarships during the school’s annual Awards Night. Due to the extended school closure caused by COVID-19, the event was held virtually on Tuesday, May 19, 2020. Read more and watch the video
Seven inducted to National Technical Honor Society
Seven Upper St. Clair High School students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on Friday, May 15, 2020. The students are enrolled in programs at Parkway West Career & Technology Center. Inductees include senior Lucas Gillespie; juniors Gabrielle Caudill, Ethan Hanson and Madison Jordan; as well as sophomores Ariana Braughler, Michael Gualterieri and Sten Wheeler. Read more
First-grader named writing contest finalist
A Streams Elementary first grader is one of 27 finalists in the 2020 WQED Writers Contest. Seven-year-old Sarah Sakowitz’s story, “The Girl with the Most Beautiful Smile,” was selected from among nearly 1,000 entries from throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland and Delaware. Partners In Education to host virtual parent program
The Student Support Services Department of the Upper St. Clair School District is hosting a live virtual Partners In Education (PIE) event titled, “Staying Connected and Supported.” The program will begin 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, and will feature a Question & Answer session as well as breakout sessions focused on ways to support students and families during this time of remote learning. No Place for Hate virtual celebration set for May 28
Twenty-two Pittsburgh-area schools - including all six Upper St. Clair Schools - will receive ADL’s 2019-2020 No Place for Hate designation via a virtual celebration entitled, Spread the Light, on Thursday, May 28, 2020. The ceremony will be livestreamed on ADL Cleveland’s Facebook page at 11 a.m., with a recording available on the same page after the event. Read more

Free/Reduced Priced Meals are available for eligible families. Family circumstances can change at any time; therefore, please know that applications can be completed anytime during the school year. Learn more Pennsylvania’s Department of Human Services has an online tool to help families apply for programs and manage benefits. There are new forms of assistance, and you may qualify for additional benefits due to the effects of COVID-19. Please visit the COMPASS site to learn more.

Any changes to contact information – including email addresses – can be made anytime throughout the year. Elementary and middle school families should contact their building secretary. 2020-21 Kindergarten registration – complete your registration forms online
