The Upper St. Clair Parent Teacher Council will host its semiannual Open Mic at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, in the Boyce Middle School theater. The focus for the evening will be on student wellness. Read more | RSVP online
Panel discussion on vaping – Dec. 11
The Youth Steering Committee of Upper St. Clair is hosting a panel discussion, “Vaping...Addictive, Dangerous and Deadly,” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the Community & Recreation Center at Boyce Mayview Park. The program is free and open to the public. Read more
USCHS team crowned chess challenge champs
A team of four Upper St. Clair High School students recently won first place in the 2019 Future Champions Chess Challenge, held on Nov. 9, 2019, at Winchester Thurston School. Team members include Lavina Sripathy, grade 10; Logan Todd, grade 10; Alex Todd, grade 9; and Trinity Murphy, grade 10. Read more
"UnSelfie" books available for purchase
Many thanks to the hundreds of community members who were able to join us last Monday for the "UnSelfie" program with Dr. Michele Borba. A limited number of "UnSelfie" books are available for purchase for $15 (cash or check made payable to St. Paul’s Episcopal Preschool). A Veterans Day observance honoring veterans of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces was held on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at the Upper St. Clair Veterans Park. The program featured musical performances by Upper St. Clair High School’s marching band and Chanteclairs. Read more and view photos
School-level Spelling Bee dates are set
The annual Upper St. Clair Spelling Bee contest dates for each school are set! The school-level spelling bees, open to students in grades 4 – 8, are sponsored by the Upper St. Clair Parent Teacher Council. Each school’s first place winner will advance to the 70th Annual Western Pennsylvania Spelling Bee. The winner of the Western Pennsylvania Spelling Bee will receive an all-expense paid trip to compete at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., in May 2020. Iceland Trip Planned for June 2020
The Upper St. Clair High School Science and Technology Education departments are sponsoring a trip to Iceland in June 2020 for high school students. The trip is scheduled for June 13-19, 2020, with sponsors Ms. Kistler, Mr. Peskorski and Mr. Hoburg. The deadline to register has been extended to Dec. 1. Read more
USC TODAY magazine arrives Nov. 18-22
Upper St. Clair TODAY magazine, a collaborative publication of the school district and Township of Upper St. Clair, will arrive in homes Nov. 18-22, 2019. The magazine will end the year and the decade by completing its yearlong celebration of 25 years of service to the community. Read more
