The Upper St. Clair School District has posted its proposed calendar for the 2019-20 school year. Community members are invited to provide comment and feedback through Friday, Feb. 22, 2019. Final calendar approval is anticipated at the Monday, Feb. 25 school board meeting.
The proposed first day of school for students is slated for Monday, Aug. 26, 2019. Pending the need for snow make-up days, the proposed last day of the school for students is set for Tuesday, June 9, 2020, and high school commencement would be held on Thursday, June 4.
In response to positive feedback from families and staff, Thanksgiving recess will once again include Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27-29. School will resume the following Monday, Dec. 2.
Under the proposed calendar, Winter Break begins on Monday, Dec. 23 and continues through Wednesday, Jan. 1. A 10-day spring break is set for the week preceding Easter and includes the following Monday. Students would be off school starting on Monday, April 6 with students returning to school on Tuesday, April 14.
