    English Credit Recovery

    For students currently in grades 9-12

    • June 16 - July 23, 2020 (Blended: online and on-site)
    • REQUIRED ON-SITE ATTENDANCE: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
    • Location: Upper St. Clair High School

    This Credit Recovery course for English or Mathematics is designed for students in grades 9-12 who have previously taken this course, but have not demonstrated successful completion or achievement. The content of this course will be delivered in a blended format (online and on-site) under the direction of our teaching staff. This format will offer the students the greatest flexibility and support in successfully completing his/her coursework. On-site attendance at the High School will be required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Student progress will be monitored and reported on a regular basis to parents, school counselors, or other designated school representatives. Students have the opportunity to attend sessions for six weeks, but the duration of the course may be shorter depending on the amount of time students devote to working on the course outside of the REQUIRED attendance days. Students may access the course at any time, from any location and are required to work on the course throughout the weeks - on-site and at home - to ensure successful completion by July 23, 2020. Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Please contact the Counseling Department directly with questions regarding registration fees.

    Math Credit Recovery

    High School Leadership Academy I, II, III

    For students currently in grades 8-11

    • July 20-24, 2020
    • 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
    • Location: Upper St. Clair High School
    High School Credit: One (1) Elective Credit

    The USCHS Leadership Academy is a one-week summer workshop offering students exposure to leadership concepts and practices.  Students identify their leadership strengths and learn how these skills can be used to make them successful in all stages of life.  Through experiential learning strategies, group projects, and hands-on activities, students experience the application of leadership skills, building confidence in their abilities and enhancing their capacity to serve in leadership roles.  Students leave the USCHS Leadership Academy with a Personalized Leadership Plan to assist with their development of leadership skills in the future.  The Leadership Academy is open to all 2020-2021 USC High School students. *Note - Students must take the Leadership Academy in sequential order: I, then II, then III.

    High School STEAM Academy

    For students currently in grades 8-11

    • June 22-26, 2020
    • 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
    • Location:  Upper St. Clair High School
    High School Credit: One (1) Elective Credit
    The Innovation Design Studio summer program is an opportunity for students to explore the design cycle with a focus on sustainability. During this time students will learn about and apply concepts relating to 2D design, 3D design, art and environmental sustainability. Students will work in a different STEAM focus area each day. 

    *Students should bring their own bagged lunch to the camp each day

    Wellness

    For students currently in grades 9-10

    • 7:30 - 11:30 AM
    • Location: Upper St. Clair High School
    High School Credit: One (1) PhysEd Credit/Session

    This course is designed for students who either have not met the requirements of a previous year’s wellness education class or a student who wishes to complete next year’s wellness education requirement over the summer to ease the student’s schedule for the 2020-2021 school year. The Summer Wellness calendar will be distributed at the first day of class. ALL COURSE WORK AND MAKE-UP WORK MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN GRADE LEVEL. No refunds will be honored once a session has begun.

    For students entering 11th Grade, (30 hours) - Choose ONE Session (All hours must be completed within one session.)
    Session 1: June 15 - June 24, 2020 -- 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM (make-up days June 25 and 26)
    Session 2: June 29 - July 9, 2020 -- 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM (make-up day July 10 and 13) - NO CLASS ON JULY 3

    For students entering 10th Grade (Semesters 1 and 2) Choose to take one semester or take both sessions to complete a full year:
    Semester 1 (F): June 15 - June 24, 2020 -- 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM (make up days June 25 and 26)
    Semester 2 (S): June 29 - July 9, 2020 -- 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM (make up days July 10 and 13) NO CLASS JULY 3.

    No class enrollment verifications will be mailed; please use your email confirmation as proof of registration unless otherwise notified.

    Bring the following items on the first day of class: gym clothes, gym shoes, swim suit, towel, and water bottle.
