U-THON kicks off at Friday night lights

U-THON: The future starts with U

Upper St. Clair High School will hold its USC Cares Night at this Friday’s varsity football game between the USC Panthers and McKeesport. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. at Panther Stadium.

U-THON: The future starts with U

The evening marks the launch of the school’s 2025-26 U-THON campaign, a student-led fundraiser supporting UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. It was announced earlier today at an all-school pep rally that the all-night U-THON event will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Throughout the first half of tonight’s game, Student Council members will host a children’s activity table and donations will be collected. In addition, the USCHS Cheer Boosters will be taking preorders for PINK OUT cancer awareness t-shirts. Shirts cost $10 and will be worn at the annual PINK OUT game on Friday, Oct. 10, when the Panthers face Bethel Park. Proceeds from shirt sales will benefit Team Timko, in support of the family’s brain tumor recovery journey. Be sure to stop by before the end of half-time.

The 2025-26 U-THON is the school’s fifth time holding the fundraising effort. Since its debut in 2017, the event has raised more than $155,000. Last year’s U-THON, the school’s first since the pandemic, students rallied to collect $38,467.42. Previous totals included $17,531 in 2017, $41,098 in 2018, and $58,477 in 2019.
