Sophomore competes at National Jr. Olympics

An Upper St. Clair High School sophomore competed in the 2024 USA Track and Field (USATF) National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships.
Competing in the 15-16 age group, Andrew Nowak earned 48th in javelin, 34th in shot put, and 32nd in discus, where he recorded a new personal record.
The national event was held July 22-28, 2024, at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
A member of the Upper St. Clair High School track and field team, Andrew also participates in Speech & Debate, which earned its fifth state title last spring. In addition, he is a violinist in the high school orchestra.
Based in Indianapolis, USA Track & Field (USATF) is the national governing body for track and field, long distance running, and race walking in the United States. The annual USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships brings together thousands of young athletes from across the nation.
