Siblings shine at Carnegie Hall

Upper St. Clair siblings Lipi and Arjun Kairi recently achieved top honors at the prestigious Crescendo International Music Competition, held at New York City’s renowned Carnegie Hall. Both performed on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, showcasing their exceptional musical talents.

Lipi, a fourth-grade student at Baker Elementary, secured first place in the voice category. Her older brother, Arjun, an eighth-grader at Fort Couch Middle School, continued his winning streak, earning his fourth consecutive first-place award in flute.

The Crescendo International Music Competition, open to students ages 4-24, features junior, intermediate, and advanced levels for instrumentalists, vocalists, duets, and chamber orchestras. Since its inception in 2007, the competition has aimed to inspire young musicians through competitive performances, master classes, and educational programs.
