School Counselor promoted to High School Assistant Principal

The school board approved the appointment on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026.

Mrs. Lash fills the vacancy created by the promotion of Dr. Cara Senger to principal. She joins Michael Joyce as one of the school's two assistant principals.

“Bethany has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to supporting students and fostering a positive school culture,” Dr. John Rozzo, superintendent of schools, said. “Her experience as both a counselor and school administrator, combined with the strong relationships she has built with our students, staff and families, make her an outstanding addition to the high school's leadership team. We are excited to see the positive impact she will continue to have in this new role.”

Mrs. Lash expressed gratitude and excitement to serve the Upper St. Clair High School community in this new capacity.

“I have truly enjoyed my role as a high school counselor and take great pride in watching our students grow into caring and successful young adults,” she said. “I am excited for the opportunity to continue serving at the high school as an assistant principal and to build upon the meaningful relationships I have developed with students, staff, and families.

Before joining Upper St. Clair School District, Mrs. Lash served as an assistant principal and college and career counselor for Propel Schools and as a school counselor at Baldwin-Whitehall High School. She began her career in education at Woodson High School in Fairfax County, Virginia, where she served as a school counselor and director of student services.

Mrs. Lash earned her bachelor’s degree and K-12 Principal Certification from California University of Pennsylvania and her master’s degree from Virginia Tech.
