Junior Competes at National Track & Field Championships

Upper St. Clair High School junior Andrew Nowak represented his school and community on the national stage at the 2025 USA Track & Field (USATF) National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships, held July 21–27 at Savannah State University’s Ted Wright Stadium in Savannah, Georgia.
Competing in the 15–16 age group, Andrew placed 37th in shot put and 25th in discus against some of the nation’s top young athletes.
In addition to excelling in athletics, Andrew plays the violin in the school’s orchestra. He is an active member of the USC track and field team, as well as several student organizations. He participates in Future Business Leaders of America and Speech & Debate, which captured its sixth state championship title last spring.
Headquartered in Indianapolis, USATF is the national governing body for track and field, long-distance running, and race walking in the United States. The USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships is one of the organization’s premier events, drawing thousands of rising athletes from across the country each summer.
