Board elects new officers

Mr. Mascaro, who served as vice president in 2025, is beginning his second four-year term on the board. Mrs. Snyder was appointed to an open seat in March 2023 and was later elected to a full term that November.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Rozzo thanked outgoing board president Dr. Danielle Wetzel for her leadership. Wetzel, recently re-elected to her second four-year term, served as vice president in 2024 and president throughout 2025.

Four recently elected board members were sworn in by Judge Arnold Klein of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. Incumbents Mr. Mascaro, Jennifer Schnore and Dr. Wetzel renewed their service, while the district welcomed newcomer David Kyle, a retired Fort Couch Middle School teacher.

Dr. Rozzo and board members also recognized Dr. Daphna Gans, who concluded eight years of service. Dr. Gans, who previously served terms as president and vice president, helped lead the district through the 2018 superintendent transition, the creation of the district police force, and the development of the district’s pandemic response.

In other matters, the School Board approved its 2026 meeting schedule. Meetings, held in the district’s administration building, begin at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted:
