2026-27 calendar approved

The Upper St. Clair School District 2026-27 school calendar was approved during the School Board meeting on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026. There were no modifications to the version that was initially presented in January.
The proposed calendar was shared with the school community on Monday, Jan. 12 along with a request for feedback. During a two-week period, nearly 30 parents and staff members provided input.
The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 is Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026. The first day for new kindergarten students will be Friday, Aug. 21, which follows two days of kindergarten screening and orientation appointments.
The last day of school for students in kindergarten through grade 11 as well as high school commencement ceremonies is Thursday, June 3, 2027.
A four-day weekend is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 2 and Tuesday, Nov. 3, which encompasses election day. Three Upper St. Clair schools – Boyce and Fort Couch middle schools as well as Baker Elementary – serve as polling locations for the primary (May) general (November) elections. From a safety and security standpoint, it is not feasible to have the school day and public voting occur simultaneously.
Thanksgiving recess includes Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 25-27. School will resume the following Monday, Nov. 30.
An 11-day Winter Break begins following an early dismissal on Wednesday, Dec. 23 and continues through Friday, Jan. 1. School resumes on Monday, Jan. 4, 2027.
Spring Recess is set for the week beginning Monday, March 22 through Friday, March 26, directly followed by a teacher in-service day on Monday, March 29. Students return to school on Tuesday, March 30.
The calendar also includes classroom management days at the end of each marking period as well as the two scheduled half days/early dismissals – the start of Winter Break (Dec. 23) and the last day of school (June 3). These days are contractually obligated through the teachers’ contract.
