Three selected for Western Region Orchestra

Three Upper St. Clair High School students have been selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Western Region Orchestra. Seniors Isaac Bernstein and Miriam Gutensohn and junior Daniel Tung will represent Upper St. Clair at the orchestra event March 21-23, 2024, at Butler Intermediate High School.

Isaac is a percussionist in the USCHS Band, Miriam is a violinist in the USCHS Orchestra, and Daniel Tung is the principal violinist in the USCHS Orchestra.

Students auditioned for the Western Region Orchestra during the PMEA District Orchestra event, which was held Feb. 8-10, at North Hills Middle School.

PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization of more than 4,500 members, dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities. PMEA is affiliated with The National Association for Music Education.
