Trivia Champions
The Upper St. Clair High School Interact Club was crowned champion in the recent three-night Trivia Challenge, hosted by Rotary District 7305. Held virtually Jan. 8-10, Upper St. Clair faced teams from other Interact Clubs, including Peters Township, Franklin Regional and North Allegheny high schools.

The USCHS trivia team consisted of juniors Jamie Barrett, Addison Fitzgerald, Hannah Del and Anna Engelman. As trivia champion, the USCHS Interact Club earned a monetary award, which will be used toward the club’s upcoming service trip.

The Interact Club has partnered with Give Kids the World Village to help bring Make-a-Wish dreams come true for families around the world. Twenty-one USCHS students and four teachers will travel to the Give Kids the World Village, located in Kissimmee, Florida during the week of March 17-22, 2024.

“Students will volunteer in a variety of servant leadership opportunities, support and celebrate with the families, experience personal growth, and learn lifelong lessons on the impact one person can have on the lives of others,” Laura Carlino, science teacher and Interact Club faculty sponsor, said.

The Give Kids the World Village is a Make-a-Wish partner organization. While volunteering, students will help serve meals, run amusement attractions/games, and help organize events for the wish children, and their families, to make their week in Orlando a life-changing experience.

To support the students and teachers during this service trip, donations can be made to Upper St. Clair High School Interact Club and mailed to 1825 McLaughlin Run Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241.

Interact, Rotary International’s service club for middle and high school students, focuses on the development of leadership skills while carrying out service projects and learning about the world. For more information, contact Mrs. Carlino, lcarlino@uscsd.k12.pa.us.
