Seven named Outstanding Young Citizens
In addition, Isaac Bernstein has been named one of 10 Outstanding Young Citizen Gold Medalists. Isaac will be presented with his medal during the high school’s annual awards night on May 21.
“These exceptional students have been selected for their remarkable achievements and their strong commitment to positively impacting their communities,” said Lindsay Bock, Trib Total Media Director of Marketing and Outstanding Young Citizen program coordinator. “The 2024 Outstanding Young Citizens represent the very best of our young leaders. They exemplify the spirit of service, academic excellence, and leadership that the program has celebrated for nearly 40 years.”
The Outstanding Young Citizens program recognizes high school juniors and seniors from throughout western Pennsylvania for their character and leadership, dedication to community service, and outstanding academic achievement. Nominations can be made by family, friends, school officials, teachers, and members of the community. This year’s nomination deadline was Feb. 11, 2024.
"This year's awardees set a new benchmark for what young people can achieve in their communities and schools," Ms. Bock said. "We are proud to honor their hard work and dedication with this recognition."
Nominated students were asked to complete biographies. An independent panel of judges reviewed all eligible biographies and selected the Outstanding Young Citizens and Top 10 Gold Medalists.
