Nine to attend district band festival

Nine Upper St. Clair High School students were recently selected to participate in the 2024 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 1 West Senior High Band Festival. The following musicians will represent Upper St. Clair:

  • Elise Parrish, grade 11: Flute 1
  • Lauren Tenney, grade 12: Clarinet 1
  • Sandro McFarland, grade 12: Tenor Saxophone
  • Maria Khila, grade 11: Baritone Saxophone
  • Carlee Santel, grade 11: Trumpet 1
  • Jacob Higgs, grade 11: Horn 3
  • Thomas Mallison, grade 10: Euphonium
  • Isaac Bernstein, grade 12: Percussion
  • Arman Kethavath, grade 10: Percussion 

The PMEA District 1-West Band Festival will be held Jan. 11-13, 2024, at Peters Township High School. Serving as guest conductor will be Dr. Scott Jones, professor of music, associate director of bands, and director of the Lawrence and Isabel Barnett Center for Integrated Arts and Enterprise at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

PMEA District 1 West includes 55 public and private high schools throughout Allegheny, Greene and Washington counties.

PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians.
