Three selected for Honors String Orchestra

Three Upper St. Clair High School musicians were recently selected by competitive audition to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 1 Honors String Orchestra Festival. Junior Daniel Tung, violin II; senior Miriam Gutensohn, violin II; and freshman Ava Liu, viola, will represent Upper St. Clair.The Upper St. Clair High School students are led by Karen Chisholm, orchestra director at USCHS and Fort Couch Middle School. The two-day PMEA District 1 Honors String Orchestra Festival will be held Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at Mt. Lebanon High School.
PMEA District 1 encompasses Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties. District honors festival musicians have the opportunity to advance to Region, All State, Eastern Division and National NAfME groups.
PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians.
