Japanese classes join World Food Day campaign
Nov. 17, 2023
In October, Upper St. Clair High School Japanese classes (Levels 1, 2 and 3) had cultural lessons about the Japanese food, onigiri (rice balls). Students made their own rice balls and enjoyed eating them in class.
Students used this learning opportunity to join the World Food Day campaign, Onigiri Action, which connects the simple act of taking a photo with helping to feed school children in need. Every photo of onigiri posted to the campaign website or on social media with #OnigiriAction helps provide five school meals to children in need around the world. USCHS Japanese classes are taught by Chie Ramsey.
