Fort Couch team places 2nd at Science Bowl

The event, hosted by the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, was held on March 8, 2023. Students from Boyce and Fort Couch middle schools were among the hundreds of students working in teams to compete in various hands-on challenges.
“This year they examined skulls of animals to infer characteristics about the species, interpreted and wrote about dioramas of animals, and learned about dinosaurs through the archeological exhibit,” Jason O’Roark, Fort Couch gifted education teacher, said.
The students’ scores on the challenges were combined to determine the overall winners. The Science Bowl is open to students in grades 4-8.
