Career Day features more than 20 professions

“The eighth-grade students have been working hard on a career unit in guidance class during the second quarter, during which they have had the opportunity to gather more information about a range of career opportunities open to them,” Mrs. Robinson said. “Career Day is yet another opportunity for students to be exposed to various careers that they may want to pursue in the future.”
All eighth-grade students were able to choose and attend four different presentations given by various professionals from around the community. A total of 24 presenters volunteered to meet with students.
“Presenters discussed why they chose their profession, day-to-day aspects of the job, the pros and cons of their field, the education needed to get into their profession, and the various professions that one can get into with specific degrees,” Mrs. Robinson said. “Many presenters brought pictures, products, and stories from their work experiences, which added to the excitement.”
