Four advance to national FBLA conference

Four Upper St. Clair High School students were among the top performers at the recent Pennsylvania Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference – advancing to the national competition. The following Upper St. Clair students qualified for the FBLA National Leadership Conference, which is set for June 27-30, 2023, in Atlanta:
- Ujal Gautum 1st Place, Impromptu Speaking
- Arya Patel, 2nd Place, Advertising
- Yog Trivedi, 3rd Place, Advertising
- Shubham Patel, 4th Place, Agribusiness
The statewide event was held April 17-19, 2023, in Hershey, Pa. The Leadership Conference featured more than 50 individual and/or team events on a range of topics including accounting, advertising, business law, economics, personal finance, graphic design, social media strategies, and more. The top four in each event qualified for the national conference.
The following Upper St. Clair High School students placed in the top 10 in Pennsylvania, but did not qualify to advance to the national competition:
- Arth Italiya, 6th Place, Introduction to Business Concepts
- Keshav Narasimhan, 8th Place, Political Science
- Harini Sakthivel & Isabella Zhang, 9th Place, Entrepreneurship
- Neil Joon, Reilly Caslin & Autumn Ma, 9th Place, Management Information Systems
Upper St. Clair High School FBLA officers include Shivani Kamineni, president; Mansi Lathia, vice president; Maanasa Reddy, secretary; and Shubham Patel, treasurer. Mr. Pat Manion, social studies teacher, serves as FBLA adviser.
FBLA is a nonprofit educational association that prepares students for careers in business by helping them develop leadership abilities, and prepare for entry into, and advancement within, a business or business-related occupation.
