Eighteen Upper St. Clair High School musicians were recently selected by competitive audition to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 1 Chorus Festival. The following Upper St. Clair students were selected:

  • Ella Elkoni, Alto 1

  • Santina Guarino, Alto 2
  • Sia Iyer (3rd Chair), Alto 2
  • Grace Kelly (4th chair), Soprano 1
  • Rebecca Lang (2nd chair), Soprano 1
  • Noah Levine, Tenor 2
  • John Marsh, Bass 2
  • Tyler McClintock-Comeaux, Bass 1
  • Edy McCurrie (2nd chair), Alto 2
  • Luke McDonough, Bass 2
  • Opal Miller, Alto 1

The students receive music instruction from Lorraine Milovac, Upper St. Clair High School choral director.

The PMEA District 1 Chorus Festival will be held Jan. 12-13, 2023, at Thomas Jefferson High School. Christine Hestwood, a member of Upper St. Clair’s music faculty, will serve as the festival’s guest conductor.

PMEA District 1 includes school districts from Allegheny, Fayette, Green, Washington and Westmoreland counties. PMEA Region 1 is comprised of PMEA District 1 and District 5, which includes Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties.

PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization of more than 4,500 members, dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities. PMEA is affiliated with The National Association for Music Education.
