Five selected for Jr. High Chorus Festival

PMEA District 1 Junior High Chorus Festival
Five Upper St. Clair High School students were recently selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association’s District 1 Junior High Chorus Festival. Freshmen Elliott Bruno, Eli Rankin, Eitan Schwartz, Ben Seewald and John Tripodes represented Upper St. Clair during the two-day event.

The students receive music instruction from Lorraine Milovac, Upper St. Clair High School’s choral director.

The Junior High Chorus Festival, open to students in grades 7-9, was held April 29-30, 2022, at Bethel Park High School. Shawn Funk, adjunct professor of music education at Duquesne University and artistic director of Pittsburgh Youth Chorus, served as guest conductor for the event.

PMEA District 1 includes school districts from Allegheny, Fayette, Green, Washington and Westmorland counties.

PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization of more than 4,500 members, dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities. PMEA is affiliated with The National Association for Music Education.
