Choir ensemble to sing with Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
A six-student chorus ensemble from Upper St. Clair High School will perform alongside the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra May 13-15, 2022, at Heinz Hall in downtown Pittsburgh. Upper St. Clair vocalists include seniors Kaitlyn Clougherty and Bria Zegarelli as well as juniors Santina Guarino, Sia Iyer, Rebecca Lang and Edy McCurrie.
The concert – “To Marvin, With Love” – celebrates the works of Marvin Hamlisch and features performances of “The Way We Were,” “A Chorus Line,” “The Sting” and more. Concerts are set for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. A 2:30 p.m. matinee wraps up the series on Sunday.
This newly formed Upper St. Clair High School ensemble, Voces Lux Youth Choir, will be singing in a piece written by Hamlisch for soloist, choir and orchestra, called “Anatomy of Peace.” The students receive music instruction from Lorraine Milovac, Upper St. Clair High School’s choral director.
