Four named to All-State Orchestra
Four Upper St. Clair High School students successfully auditioned to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Orchestra. Congratulations to the following musicians:
- Leona Chen, grade 10, violin
- Sophie Chen, grade 12, violin
- Miriam Gutensohn, grade 10, violin
- Joe Phillips, grade 12, cello
The students receive music instruction from Christine Hestwood, Upper St. Clair High School’s orchestra conductor and strings teacher for Boyce and Fort Couch middle schools.
PMEA’s 2022 All-State Festival and Annual In-Service Conference will be held April 6-9 at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in the Poconos.
PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization of more than 4,000 members, dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities. PMEA is affiliated with The National Association for Music Education.
