Four advance to national FBLA competition
Four Upper St. Clair High School students were among the top finishers at the Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference – qualifying to compete at the national competition. The state event was held April 11-13, 2022, in Hershey.
The following Upper St. Clair students qualified for the FBLA National Leadership Conference, which is set for June 29-July2, 2022, in Chicago:
- Mahir Parmar, grade 10: First Place, Introduction to Business Procedures
- George Atencio, grade 12: Second Place, Business Management
- Grace Atencio, grade 10: Second Place, Business Management
- Evie Sullivan, grade 10: Second Place, Business Management
“Thousands of students from hundreds of schools across Pennsylvania competed at this event,” said Pat Manion, social studies teacher and FBLA advisor, said. “Our students teach themselves the content and skills for these events. The results are a testament to their hard work.”
The following Upper St. Clair High School students placed in the top 10 in Pennsylvania, but did not qualify to advance to the national competition:
- Maanasa Reddy, grade 11: Fifth Place, Public Speaking
- Keshav Narasimhan, grade 11: Fifth Place, Business Calculations
- Arya Patel, grade 10: Sixth Place, Advertising
- Alyana Childs, grade 12: Seventh Place, Publication Design
- Ashley Eichberg, grade 12: Ninth Place, Impromptu Speaking
- Esha Lathia, grade 9: Ninth Place, Introduction to Social Media Strategies
- Shreeva Sutreja, grade 9: Ninth Place, Introduction to Social Media Strategies
- William Bacdayan, grade 12: 10th Place, Parliamentary Procedures
- Ammar Kethavath, grade 12: 10th Place, Parliamentary Procedures
- Shreya Golakiya, grade 12: 10th Place, Parliamentary Procedures
- Anya Ekbote, grade 12: 10th Place, Parliamentary Procedures
- Vidhur Senthil, grade 12: 10th Place, Parliamentary Procedures
