Upper St. Clair High School junior Kayla Lumish was recently honored with the 2020 Junior Volunteer Award from the United States Tennis Association Middle States, Allegheny Mountain District.
According to the USTA website, the award recognizes “an individual who has made valuable contributions to the growth of tennis in Middle States by working as a volunteer at the district and/or section level. This person has demonstrated a passion in giving back to their community or school.”
“Kayla volunteered a considerable amount of her time helping to teach young kids the game of tennis,” Lynn Ellenberger, USCHS tennis booster parent, said.
Kayla is a member of the Upper St. Clair High School varsity tennis team and actively participates in Student Council.
The USTA Middle States section encompasses Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and northwestern West Virginia. The Allegheny Mountain District includes Pittsburgh, Erie and Wheeling, W.Va.
