Students honored at USCHS Awards Night
Dozens of Upper St. Clair High School students were recently recognized with honors, awards and scholarships during the school’s annual Awards Night on Monday, May 17, 2021. The event was the school district’s first in-person student awards program in more than a year.
“Being here, at Awards Night, brings me tremendous hope. This evening marks our return to many cherished events,” Dr. John Rozzo, superintendent, said. “I can’t think of a more fitting event to kick-off this phase in our reopening than Awards Night – a celebration of our students’ achievements.”
Dr. Timothy Wagner, Upper St. Clair High School principal, stated that it was an honor to celebrate the two important components of student life – growth and achievement.
“Though Awards Night is typically associated with a prize, an accolade, or the announcement of a significant ‘win,’ always remember how important effort, progress and growth are in all that you pursue,” he said. “Tonight, we celebrate your achievements by way of an award – but, simultaneously, we celebrate so much more. We honor your progress and your growth, and we honor, most importantly, who you are as people. We could not be more proud of who you are, students, and we thank your families for sharing you with us each day.”
