PSBA honors School Board member for service

Mr. Lou Mafrice Jr.
Louis P. Mafrice Jr., a member of the Upper St. Clair Board of School Directors, was named to the Pennsylvania School Boards Association’s Honor Roll of School Board Service. This month, Mr. Mafrice completes his third, four-year term on the school board.

Since 1983, PSBA has been recognizing school board members who earn “honor roll” status upon completing eight years of service and then again at every four-year increment. Lena Hannah, PSBA’s member services manager for southwestern Pennsylvania, joined the USC School Board meeting remotely on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, to publicly recognize Mr. Mafrice.

For more than 35 years, PSBA has been recognizing the contributions of dedicated local directors with long-term service.

“The honor roll is the association’s way of thanking those individuals who exemplify leadership by giving unselfishly of their time and talents for the betterment of public schools serving students across this great commonwealth,” Ms. Hannah said.

During his 12-year tenure on the USC School Board, Mr. Mafrice served as vice-president in 2013 and president in 2014. He did not seek re-election to the school board this year.
