Hundreds of students, former students, parents, colleagues, retirees, friends and others wrapped around Streams Elementary School for an opportunity to wish Dr. Claire Miller well in her retirement. The car parade began at 3:30 p.m. and wrapped up at 5:35 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2020.
Dr. Miller has had a successful 34-year career in public education. She began as a social studies teacher before entering school administration as a middle school assistant principal. She served as a middle school principal before landing at Streams Elementary School, where she has spent the last 16 years.
“I know that we have all heard the saying, ‘Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life.’ My 34 years in education have certainly proved that adage to be true,” Dr. Miller said. “I can honestly say that no role made that saying ring truer than my 16 years in the Upper St. Clair School District.”
