Boyce team places first in Science Bowl

A team of Boyce Middle School students recently placed first at the annual Science Bowl at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. The team members included sixth grader Ayan Singh Amin and fifth graders Erika Metzger, Mackenzie Pope and Jonah Zahalsky.

The event, sponsored by the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, was open to students in grades four through eight. Students competed in four different hands-on challenges and scavenger hunts including Do you see what I see; Explore anywhere; Fur, Feathers and Scales; and Who am I (dinosaurs).

Students were accompanied by Susan Fleckenstein, gifted and enrichment resource teacher.
