Privacy & Online Resources

The Upper St. Clair School District is committed to the safety and security of its students, including their online activities and interactions. Students regularly receive age and developmentally appropriate instruction regarding responsible online behavior including interacting via social networks and in chat rooms, cyber-bullying and protecting against the disclosure of personal information.

There are a number of excellent online educational resources that benefit students, many of which provide unique learning experiences. Notably, interactive online tools such as blogs, wikis, and other websites provide some of the most compelling educational tools for today’s students. While allowing access to these interactive online educational resources, we must also safeguard students’ privacy and personal information.

Within the Online Resource – Privacy Links page, a link to each website’s privacy policy, which describes how that site collects and/or uses student data, is provided. Parents are encouraged to visit each website and review the privacy policy regarding student data usage.

In addition, the following online services are recognized as official systems of the Upper St. Clair School District: Apple School Manager; Apple Classroom; MMS by Computer Resources/Focus School Software; Health eTools for Schools by Population Health Innovations, LLC; Tienet by PowerSchool; G Suite for Education by Google; Securly; SonicWall; Pervidio by Cerdant; Jamf Pro/Casper Suite by Jamf; Clever; HappyFox HelpDesk by HappyFox and Canvas Learning Management System by Instructure.
