The Parent Teacher Council’s Arts In USC Committee annually sponsors a district-wide arts contest for students in kindergarten through grade 12. This year’s theme is Panther Pride. The submission deadline is Friday, Jan. 24. Artwork collection boxes are located within each school’s main office. Learn more

Fort Couch earns top scores at math competition
Three Fort Couch Middle School students earned perfect scores in the CalcuSolve competition on Dec. 12, 2024. Eighth graders Avik Pandey and Seth Pedretti, along with seventh grader Mateo Lin tied for first place among nearly 300 participants. Read more
Esports wins conference finals
The Upper St. Clair High School Esports Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team placed first at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Esports League (PIEA) Colonial Conference Division I finals on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at Waynesburg University. Senior Jack Schalk was awarded MVP. Read more
Inclement weather: Flexible Instruction Days
The Upper St. Clair School District is able to utilize up to five Flexible Instruction Days (FID) in place of in-person instruction during inclement weather or other emergencies. On a FID, students will participate in synchronous instruction provided by teachers following a 2-hour delay schedule. A FID is considered a school day and counts toward the number of instructional days/hours required by Pennsylvania’s Public School Code. Review the details for Flexible Instruction Days
WTAE Teacher of the Month
Teacher of the Month nominations are now open! Nominate one or more deserving teachers for their chance to be awarded $1,000 toward new classroom supplies. Each month, one teacher will be selected. District-wide art contest underway
Student artists in kindergarten through grade 12 are invited to submit entries for the 10th annual Arts in USC contest, sponsored by the Upper St. Clair Parent Teacher Council (PTC). This year’s theme is “Panther Pride.” Students are encouraged to create and submit their original two-dimensional artwork on 8.5”x11” card stock (no glitter, please). Be sure to include the student’s name, grade, school, homeroom teacher, and title of the artwork on a separate sheet of paper. Submissions will be accepted through Friday Jan. 24 in each school’s main office. Learn more about Arts in USC
Healthy Habits – Happy Kids: Book Club
The PTC Wellness Committee, in partnership with the school district, is pleased to present: Healthy Habits - Happy Kids. Join us to discuss the bestselling book, “The Anxious Generation.” Author Jonathan Haidt is leading a movement that brings families and communities together to improve youth mental health, and increase childhood independence and free play.
