2026-27 calendar approved
The Upper St. Clair School District 2026-27 school calendar was approved during the School Board meeting on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026. The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 is Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026. The first day for new kindergarten students will be Friday, Aug. 21, which follows two days of kindergarten screening and orientation appointments. Read more | Download the 2026-27 Calendar
Students connect with Japanese culture through taiko drumming
Students at all three Upper St. Clair elementary schools – Baker, Eisenhower and Streams – recently experienced the power, rhythm and joy of traditional Japanese taiko drumming. A special cultural performance was performed for each school’s second-graders on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026. The performances complemented the district’s second-grade unit on Japan, offering students an authentic, immersive learning experience. Read more
Dance & Cheer teams place 6th in nation
Two Upper St. Clair High School teams placed sixth at their national championships on Jan. 30 and Jan. 31, 2026, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The competitive cheer team and the dance team competed at the Universal Cheerleaders Association National High School Cheerleading Championship and the Universal Dance Association National Dance Team Championship. Freshman Leads USC Honors with Six Scholastic Gold Keys
Upper St. Clair High School freshman Hayal Anavatan earned six Gold Key awards – the highest level of recognition – in the 2026 Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, leading all Upper St. Clair students this year. Gold Key entries automatically advance to national adjudication, where they are considered for Gold Medal, Silver Medal, and scholarship awards. National Medalists are announced each spring and published at artandwriting.org. Overall, seven Upper St. Clair students earned honors across visual art and writing categories. Read more
Mock Trial team advances with unanimous jury decisions
The Upper St. Clair High School Mock Trial team recently won unanimous jury decisions at the district level of the 2026 Pennsylvania Mock Trial Competition, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Association. The USC plaintiff team competed against West Mifflin High School on Jan. 29, 2026, and the defense team faced Seton LaSalle on Feb. 3. Both trials were held at the Pittsburgh City-County Building in downtown Pittsburgh. With these victories, USC advances to district playoff competition scheduled for late February or early March. USCHS to stage “Mamma Mia!” March 12-15
Tickets are going fast – shows are more than 70% sold out
Ticket sales are underway for this year’s Upper St. Clair High School musical, “Mamma Mia!,” which will be performed March 12–15 in the high school theater. Online ticket sales can be accessed at usctheater.org. More than 150 students are involved in the production, both on stage and behind the scenes, with additional students performing in the orchestra pit. Read more
