Upper St. Clair Township Library Student Volunteer Application Now Open

Sign up now to become a library volunteer! Volunteer opportunities are available all summer long for students going into 6th-12th grades. Only those who have registered will receive the volunteer opportunity announcements. The volunteer application is open now through June 30. Summer volunteer opportunities at the library will be announced beginning June 1.

Kids & Teens Library Summer Challenges

Upper St. Clair Township Library Summer Reading & Activity Challenges for Kids and Teens

Upper St. Clair Township Library is pleased to offer seasonal reading and activity challenges for all ages of readers. These programs are designed to encourage use of the library and its resources. Programs are able to be completed on paper (packets available at the Library or for download) on online via Beanstack.

Kids Summer Bingo Challenge (Preschool-Rising 5th Grade)

June 1 - August 13

Join the Upper St. Clair Township Library's Kids Summer Bingo! Visit the Kids & Teens Library to pick up a weekly bingo card. Earn a raffle ticket by getting a bingo by completing 3 activities across, down or diagonally. Finish the whole card to receive an additional raffle ticket. New cards will be available every Monday beginning June 1 until August 3. Raffle tickets must be claimed by Thursday, August 13. The Grand Prize Raffle Drawing will be held on Friday, August 14. USC Youth Volleyball Camp (gr. 5-9): July 14-16

The USC 2026 Youth Volleyball Camp is now accepting registration for the annual summer camp.

WHO: girls entering grades 5-9
WHEN: Tues., July 14-Thurs., July 16
- Gr. 5-7: 5:30-7:30 p.m.
- Gr. 8-9: 7:15-8:45 p.m.
WHERE: USCHS main gym
COST: $100 - includes t-shirt and Rita's Ice

The camp is run by the 2025 Section Champ USC Girls Volleyball team and coaches.

USCHS Girls Soccer Youth Camp (Pre-K-gr. 6): July 20-23

Organized by the USC Girls Soccer Boosters, the USCHS Girls Soccer Team, and Head Coach Zach Hamilton. Includes technical training and demonstration, individual skill challenges, small-sided games...LOADS of FUN and Rita's Ice on the last day!

WHO: Boys & Girls Grades Pre-K through 6th Grade of all skill levels welcome to participate
When: July 20-23 5:30-7pm (rain date July 24)
Where: USC High School Stadium
Cost: $75 per player; $50 for each additional child

Camp is always well-attended and we don't want to have to turn anyone away, so please register today! Registration deadline is July 18th!

RMU Basketball Day Camp (gr.2-9): June 22-25 & July 20-23

For boys entering grades 2-9.

Day Camp 2: July 20-23
Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Cost: $325

This camp is designed to provide campers with skill development and instruction directly from the RMU coaching staff and players, all within RMU Basketball facilities. Campers will have opportunities to compete in drills, work as a team in 5-on-5 competitions, and win contest prizes. Each camper will receive a T-Shirt and Basketball.

AI Summer Program taught by Stanford alumni @ USCHS

Inspirit AI is offering an in-person, 30-hour AI program hosted at Upper St. Clair High School that teaches students in grades 6-12 fundamental AI concepts and guides them to build socially impactful projects such as safe ChatGPT bots, exoplanet search, self-driving car systems, and more!

Stanford and MIT graduates in AI will be present in-person from June 29-July 10, 2026 to teach. Separate middle and high school sections will be offered.

FREE Steel City Codes Summer Camp (gr. 4-8)

Steel City Codes is excited to offer a free, week-long virtual coding camp for students in 4th through 8th grade in which high school volunteers will be teaching computer science to students. Our camp is a fun and interactive introduction to the fundamentals of computer science.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the interest form or scan the QR code on the attached flyer. To help us choose the best dates for the camp, the form will ask families to select the weeks they are available this summer.

Once we finalize the camp dates, we will send more information to everyone who completes the interest form, including course options and additional details.

South Fayette Youth Volleyball (ages 7-15): starts Sept. 12

Join the fastest-growing youth volleyball program in South Fayette! Boys and girls ages 7-15, for beginner, intermediate and experienced players. (co-ed league divided into four divisions: ages 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-15) Divisions are determined by child’s age on November 1, 2026.

WHEN: Mondays: 6:30-7:30 PM or 7:30-8:30 PM & Saturdays: 9-10 AM or 10-11 AM
WHERE: South Fayette Elementary School
START DATE: Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026
END DATE: Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026
COST:
- Early: $150 (by July 1)
- Regular: $175 (by Aug. 1)
- Late: $200 (until Sept. 1_

League is directed by a Clinician (Head Volleyball Coach) who organizes, instructs, supervises and maintains volunteer coaches in the instruction of each team. Clinician (Head Volleyball Coach) has experience playing and/or coaching volleyball at the high school, club, college or higher level.

Registration fee includes a t-shirt and a medal. Players should bring their volleyball.

We recommend the Molten VBU12 for divisions 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12 or IVU-BLU for division 13-15 because they are good quality, official size volleyballs with a soft cover. If they don’t own one, it can be purchased at www.usyvl.org/store.

Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program supports homeowners and renters across Pennsylvania. This program provides a rebate ranging from $380 to $1,000 to eligible older adults and people with disabilities aged 18 and older. The amount of money you will receive is based on your income. This program is supported by funds from the Pennsylvania Lottery and gaming.

Under Pennsylvania law, the Department of Revenue evaluates the program before the June 30 deadline every year. If extra funds are available, the deadline is extended to December 31. Applications postmarked by that date will be accepted for processing.

Bulletin Board postings are limited to booster and parent organizations, community service projects, local youth athletics, USC township and library programming, and activities/events from other local non-profit organizations.

Information that is posted on the online Bulletin Board is also included among the community/bulletin board listings in the Weekly Recap email, which is sent every Friday.
