Community Day

Upper St Clair will host its annual Community Day from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025. This year’s theme is Saddle-Up St. Clair!

Activities will be located on the high school campus, along McLaughlin Run Road from the Activity Center to the library, and at the Log House and Gilfillan Farm.

Parking is available on the high school campus, at Eisenhower Elementary and Fort Couch Middle School. Complimentary shuttle bus service will be provided continuously throughout the day.

First established in 1978, Community Day is a collaborative effort between the Upper St. Clair School District, the Township of Upper St. Clair, community groups and local businesses.

Booth & Event Registration

Booth Application/Registration: deadline April 14

Apply for a Booth

Each tent-covered space is approximately 10'x10' and includes a table and two chairs. Access to electricity is limited and not available for the majority of spaces. Please call for more details

The fee is $90 per space.

Deadline to submit application: No later than Monday, April 14 (There are a limited number of spaces; thus it is better to apply prior to the deadline.)

GUIDELINES FOR NONPROFIT COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS:

Nonprofit community organizations may sell food, host carnival games, or provide public service information. If your nonprofit organization is planning on partnering with a business for its activity, please note the following:

The work in the space must be done by the members of the community organization, and 100% of the profits must be donated to the nonprofit group.

GUIDELINES FOR BUSINESS PARTICIPATION:

Businesses may participate ONLY under the following guidelines:

Businesses may partner with a nonprofit group desiring to sell/showcase its product (see above).
Businesses may participate by providing a community service event or activity, but will not be permitted to set up a space strictly for their benefit, advertising, or profit. Only community service events or activities that are approved by the Community Day Committee will be permitted.
Businesses are not permitted to solicit directly to visitors to their space/activity.
Business advertising signs should be no larger than 11" x 17".
Businesses may participate by providing a monetary donation for Community Day or sponsoring a special attraction/event. Donations are acknowledged in the UPPER ST. CLAIR TODAY magazine and on the patron board displayed on Community Day. Please contact the Recreation Department at 412.221.1099 for a separate donor/patron form and more information.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us to uphold the above-listed guidelines so that we might preserve the true meaning and integrity of our Community Day.

Parade Registration: deadline May 7

Howdy!!!! We would love for our whole community to have a part in Community Day. One great way is to march in the parade! All Township and School District groups, organizations, clubs, and sports teams, as well as local music and dance groups, are invited to participate in the parade.

Parade start time: 11:30 a.m.
Groups participating in the parade will be asked to arrive at 10:45 a.m. to line up (Upper parking lot of USCHS)
We anticipate the parade being over by 12 p.m. (noon).

The deadline for submitting a parade registration form is Wednesday, May 7, 2025. There is no charge to participate in the parade.

Your group may walk, drive, or even build a float. We encourage dance and music groups to perform along the parade route. Upper St. Clair Public Access Television will be set up along McLaughlin Run Road; groups should be sure to perform in that area as well.

Where: Upper St. Clair High School Stadium (Truxton Drive entrance)

The USC Community Day Fun Run/Walk is an untimed, walk or run event. There are two routes to choose from at this event. Strollers are allowed on either route.

Plan on staying at the stadium afterwards for games, music, and watching the official opening ceremony of Community Day!

3 miles Run/Walk

This course will start at the stadium entrance on Truxton Drive and wind through the Blairmont, Murdstone, Outlook, Devonwood and Orr areas. This route is hilly and could be challenging, but staying on your own pace is encouraged. If you sign up for this route, you should feel confident that you can finish in 50 minutes.

1 mile Run/Walk

This course will take place on the USCHS high school stadium track. This route is flat and easy and we will also have music and games available during the event.

Toddler Trot (register by May 15)

Ages: 12 months to 4 years old
Time: 12:30 p.m.
Location: Founders' Field (grassy area in the baseball field, close to the booths)
Registration Deadline: May 15
Cost: FREE (Yeehaw!!!)

The Toddler Trot is a fun tradition that takes place at 12:30 p.m. on May 17 during USC Community Day. This event is run by USCHS Freshmen Student Council.

Hottest Dog Contest

When: May 17, 2025
Where: Main Stage
Time: 12:15 p.m.
Registration Fee: $5 (benefits Children's Hospital Free Care Fund)

All dogs get a treat for registering!

Must be USC resident
Owners must provide proof of up-to-date shot records upon entry.
Pets must be leashed.
You can register at the event.

Duck Race

This annual event is a major fundraiser for the Foundation.

Purchase an adopt-a-duck certificate at the Community Foundation of USC's booth during Community Day.
We understand that not everyone will be able to attend the Great Duck Race during Community Day on May 17. Although state regulations do not allow online sales, you are permitted to preorder your certificates and reserve your “lucky ducks” by mailing a check to the Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair. Once they are printed, we will register your duck numbers, enter your adoptee in the race, and send you by email a copy of your certificates. Or, if you wish, you could pick them up from the CFUSC booth after 9 a.m. on Community Day.

Complimentary Shuttle Service

Community members can park at Eisenhower Elementary or Fort Couch Middle School or at any designated shuttle stop and ride the free shuttle to Community Day event areas. Shuttles buses will run continuously throughout the day.
