Mrs. Julie Stone
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am on an educational sabbatical for the fall semester of the 2021-2022 school year, but I am so excited to be working with the 10th and 12th grade students at Upper St. Clair High School when I return in the spring! This is my eighth year at the high school, previously teaching at Fort Couch MS for four years. My classroom is a place where students can be themselves and feel comfortable and confident in who they are. This year we will be working on academics, organization, and study skills. Self-advocacy and independence are promoted and encouraged in preparation for the future.
Access to student grades, teacher agendas, and assignments are available through Focus and Canvas. Our combined efforts and support will not only produce a more successful student this school year, but will also cultivate within your child the ideals of teamwork and collaboration, which will last a lifetime.
Within my 20 years in the field of Special Education, I have held roles as an educator in life skills, emotional support, and learning support classes at the middle and high school levels. I have co-taught in inclusive classroom settings and taught learning support English and Math classes. Prior to Upper St. Clair, I had experience in a cyber charter school setting as a Learning Support Teacher, Gifted and Talented Coordinator, and Assistant Principal of Special Education. I have also completed ABA coursework through Pitt and volunteered through the Cleveland Clinic Center for Autism providing ABA therapy in the home. I believe that my diverse background and broad spectrum of experience allow me to meet the individual needs of unique learners.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, Luca. I also love to run, kayak, bike, and garden. Aside from being a mom to Luca, I am also a cat mom to Mrs. Wiggles, Inky, and Meepers.
My goal is to provide your child with the highest quality education by keeping the lines of communication open and working together as a team. I am available Monday through Friday between 7:05AM and 3:05PM. Please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email, if you have any questions or concerns during the year. I am also happy to meet with you by appointment.
I look forward to working with you and your child to make this school year a great success.
Mrs. Julie Stone
