The district's approach to technology is that applications of new
technology need to be guided by curriculum requirements as well as student needs. In each elementary school there is a computer lab equipped with 30 networked iMac computers and staffed by a full-time tech person who has a high level of proficiency in technology.
A sequential list of student technology goals has been developed which includes objectives in keyboarding, personal productivity, information processing, basic skills support, curriculum enrichment, career and occupational possibilities, technology literacy and age appropriate coding. As they progress through the elementary years, children learn how to problem-solve, how to use Microsoft Word and Power Point, incorporate the use of graphics into their presentations, and gain proficiency in typing and using a computer.
