Welcome to Mr. Duchi's 8th grade Algebra I Website!  I am the Algebra I teacher on team 6 and have been teaching for 23 years in the Upper St. Clair School District.  After graduating from THE North Allegheny High School in 1996, I attended THE Pennsylvania State University where I majored in Secondary Mathematics Education.  While teaching, I received my Masters degree in Education from Gannon University.  My wife, Mrs. Duchi, teaches English 10 at the high school and I am the proud father of three beautiful children, Alessandra, Luca, and Seth:)

As students enter into the 8th grade, they are beginning the most challenging and most integral year of math to date.  Algebra is the foundation of mathematics and without mastering its concepts, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus and Calculus would be impossible.  This year, we will delve into many new concepts from solving equations and linear systems, to writing equations of lines and factoring polynomials.

Utilizing my Canvas page will give you the most valuable resources to use to your advantage this year.  This will include, but will not be limited to, instructional videos, class notes, and homework solutions.  Each day, you should be reporting to class with your CHARGED chromebook, stylus, scientific calculator, and headphones.  Please also come to school with a lock for your locker.

Please feel free to contact me at (412)833-1600 x3304 or email me at rduchi@uscsd.k12.pa.us with any questions or concerns.

Looking forward to a great year,

    Ryan Duchi
