Hello Guest and welcome to Mr. Funfar's SchoolWires webpage!
I believe that EVERY student CAN succeed in mathematics. I work my hardest to ensure that by the end of the year my students have obtained the necessary skills to be successful in future course work as well as mathematics in their everyday lives.
In my free time, I enjoy running. I also love the Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Penguins and Steelers.

Courses Currently Taught (with a link to Canvas)
I graduated from Saint Vincent College in 2005 with a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics with minors in physics and religious studies. I went back to Saint Vincent College and got my teaching certificate the following year in mathematics 7-12. During that time, I student taught at Greensburg Salem High School. Fortunately, after that experience, I was hired as a long term substitute at Upper St. Clair High School and was then offered a full time position the following year, which I excitedly accepted! While teaching at Upper St. Clair High School, I earned my Master's degree from Robert Morris University in Instructional Leadership with a focus in education.
Experience Beyond the Classroom:
During my time at Upper St. Clair, I have been fortunate enough to be involved in a variety of student centered activities including the Junior Mentor Program and the Leadership Academy. Furthermore, I have served on the Professional Development Committee, the Liaison Committee, as well as the High School Experience Committee. I still actively participate in the Junior Mentor Program and Professional Development Comittee, which both bring me a lot of satisfaction outside of the classroom.
In 2013, I received the honor of being selected as a 40 under 40 award winning in teaching through Veritas Prep. Here is the article that was published in the Post Gazette in November 2013.
I am currently enrolled in the instructional management and leadership PhD program at Robert Morris University, where I am working on my doctoral studies. The course work is quite challenging and takes up a majority of my time, but is truly enjoyable!
