Records Retention Notice - Records from 2018 and earlier
In compliance with the Upper St. Clair School Board Policy 800 (Record Retention) and associated Administrative Regulations, the Student Support Services Department will now be securely destroying Special Education, Section 504, and Gifted records annually. Under Policy 800, qualifying records will be maintained for six years after a student’s exit from services or graduation/withdrawal from the District.
These new procedures will be implemented for the first time this year. As such, records of students whose services ended and/or students who graduated/withdrew from the District in June 2018 are scheduled for destruction in August 2024.
Former students who are interested in obtaining their records may arrange for in-person retrieval of their records by submitting a record request form on or before July 31, 2024. An individual 18 years of age or older, unless adjudicated, must request and pick-up his/her own records at the District Administration Building (1775 McLaughlin Run Road). Photo identification will be required.
All student records related to Special Education, Section 504, and Gifted Education dated prior to July 1, 2018, that are not requested for pick-up on or before July 31, 2024, will be destroyed in August 2024.
