New Lead Testing For Kindergarten Students

The universal blood lead level testing regulation mandate for Kindergarten students.

On July 5, 2017, the County Council for the Allegheny County Health Department approved a regulation requiring universal lead testing for young children beginning in January 1, 2018. This helps to monitor lead levels in Allegheny County children. All students entering Kindergarten are required to show proof of testing before the first day of school. This mandate can be completed through your pediatrician or the health department. Please see the links below from the Allegheny County Health Department for more information.
