High School Swimmers Achieve First Place Wins at WPIAL Swimming Competition
The WPIAL Swimming Competition was held at the University of Pittsburgh on March 3 and 4. 
Congratulations to the High School Boys’ 200-Medley Relay Team of Jack Fitzpatrick, Braedon Wong, Kevin Liu, and Brandon Novak for winning first place with the time of 1:32.43.
Braedon Wong took a first place in the Boys’ 100 Butterfly with the time of 49.72.
USC swimmers took first, second and third place wins in the Boys’ 100 Backstroke. Kevin Liu took first place with the time of 48.97, Braedon Wong second place with the time of 50.36, and Jack Fitzpatrick third with the time of 50.89.
All swimmers will move on to the PIAA Swimming Championship that will be held on March 16 and 17 at Bucknell University.
Students finishing in the top 8 spots and also qualifying for states include:
- Kevin Liu - 200 Individual Relay (2nd place)
- Brandon Novak, Kevin Liu, Amatheon Bohan, Ole Minuth - 200 Free Relay (3rd place)
- Nick Mudry - 100 Breast (8th place)
- Braedon Wong, Amatheon Bohan, Brandon Novak, Ole Minuth - 400 Free (4th place)
Overall, the High School Boys’ Swim Team finished in third place at the WPIAL Competition.
