High School String Bass Player Selected to Participate in PMEA All-State Orchestra
Based on auditions held at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Western Region State

Orchestra (WRSO) Festival at State College High School on February 25-27, USC High School string bass player James Boston earned placement in the prestigious PMEA All-State Orchestra, the highest level PA symphonic ensemble. The All-State Orchestra will rehearse March 31-April 2 and present a public performance on April 2 at 10:30 a.m. in the Great American Hall at Hershey Lodge.
Gerardo Edelstein, the director of orchestral studies at Penn State University, was the guest conductor for PMEA WRSO, conducting the masterworks of Pavane pour une infante défunte, Op. 21 (Ravel), Academic Festival Overture, Op. 80 (Brahms), Russian Easter Overture, Op. 36 (Rimsky-Korsakov), and Serenade for Strings, Op. 20 (Elgar).
James is a member of the USC High School string orchestra under the direction of Ms. Sarah Shoemaker.
