• Boyce Middle School Student Champions of the National Geographic Bee Announced

    For the 28th year,the National Geographic Bee was held for students in the fourth through eighth grades in thousands of schools across the United States and in the five U.S. territories.
     
    The champion of the Boyce Middle School National Geography Bee was Ben Wasson! Shane Williams came in second place and Ty Lagoni in third.
     
    GeoBee is sponsored by the National Geographic Society, one of the largest nonprofit scientific and boycegeobee2016 educational institutions in the world with interests including geography, archaeology and natural science, and the promotion of environmental and historical conservation. The contest is designed to motivate students to learn about the world and how it works.
     
    A sample question from the 2015 National GeoBee: Mariupol, a city located at the mouth of the Kalmius River, is located on what sea that is an arm of the Black Sea?” Answer: “Sea of Azov.”
     
    The GeoBee at Boyce was conducted by Ms. Diane Ecker and Ms. Susan Fleckenstein.
