Boys’ Golf Team Raises More Than $4K for Children’s Hospital
The Upper St. Clair High School Boys’ Golf Team was featured on the KDKA Children's Hospital “Free-Care Telethon” on December 17.
The golfers raised $4,414 for Children's Hospital in their sponsorship of a program called “Birdies for a Cause.” Money is raised by the number of birdies they make during the golf season.
For the “charitable-minded” Boys’ Golf Team, this is the fourth successful year of the fundraiser. Two years ago when the team won the state championship, the boys raised $8,288 for colorectal cancer research and awareness.
The 2015 USC Boy’s Golf Varsity Team is coached by Mr. Craig Borst, and the Junior Varsity Team is led by Mr. Matt Mellinger.
Members of the Boys’ Golf Team recognized at the “Free-Care Telethon” by KDKA Reporter Mr. Dave Crawley are (left to right) standing Kevin Stief, Alex Strain, Chris Joson, Jordan Rongaus, Brad Vespa, Mr. Crawley, Jack O’Leary, and kneeling Louie Olsakovsky and Jack Steve.
