USC Elementary Schools Honor Veterans
On Tuesday, November 10, service members from the local U.S. Army Reserves Unit in Pittsburgh came to
visit each of the elementary schools to talk with the students about the purpose of Veterans Day and its meaning.
As a follow-up activity, the students wrote letters of appreciation to veterans in the community. Students thanked the veterans for their service to their community and country, and to show their appreciation for their service and sacrifice. These letters will be distributed to veterans in the local community and to the local VA Medical Centers around the Pittsburgh region.
