High School Chanteclairs to Perform with Grammy Award-Winning Vocal Group "Chanticleer"
The Upper St. Clair High School (USCHS) Chanteclairs, along with chamber choirs from Mt. Lebanon and Canon McMillan high schools, will be participating in a masterclass given by the Grammy award-winning Male Vocal Ensemble Chanticleer on Saturday, November 7 at 2:45 p.m.
In addition to having one-on-one time with the group in a workshop, the three high school choirs will perform prior to the Chanticleer Concert at the Westminster Presbyterian Church Saturday evening. The address to the church is 2040 Washington Road, next to the high school. The mini-performances will start at 6:45 p.m., and the Chanticleer concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. There will be a “meet and greet” reception following the concert in the Fellowship Hall.
Concert tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students. However, the Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair has generously donated 100 tickets for USC students. Please contact USCHS Choral Director Ms. Lorraine Milovac at 412-833-1600 ext. 2325 if your students are interested in attending.
Student members of Chanteclairs and participants in the masterclass include Chase Banton, Ryan Bentley, Liam Carse, Mackenzie Damon, Carly DeCock, Devon Garcia, Patrick Glover, Jonah Glunt, Emily Hall, Connor Halloran, Kellie Kaufman, Amanda Mittelman, Ben Nadler, Brad Puskar, Turner Queen, Cara Ravasio, Jacob Ross, Andrew Rauber, Alexa Rieger, Mariya Savinov, Mor Shimshi, Jack Smith, Jordan Smith, Sowmya Srinivasan, Evan Strain, Izzy Tarcson, Julia Twerdok, Rachel Van Ryzin, Erik Warmbein, Grant Warmbein, Kyle Warmbein, Phil Warmbein, and Tia Watts.
According to Ms. Milovac, “This is an exciting
opportunity, not only for the students, but for the Upper St. Clair community, to hear the extraordinary male vocal ensemble whose repertoire ranges from Renaissance to Contemporary styles of music.” She warns that you should reserve your seats early. “The group’s performance at Shadyside Presbyterian Church in June was sold out!”
